How long is the lead-time when ordering a customized Toughbook?

Typically, base-unit Toughbooks can ship immediately.  It can take several days to configure options such as larger hard drives, additional RAM, upgraded keyboards, and cellular modems.  Adding a GPS module or a fingerprint scanner can take 7-10 business days to configure.  If your needs for a Toughbook or even an accessory are specifically time-sensitive, please call us at 1-877-532-8088 to make sure proper arrangements are made to deliver your order when it is needed.  Online orders are not guaranteed to ship the same day.

Why can't I buy a Toughbook directly from Panasonic?

Panasonic partners with a channel of resellers to provide the highest quality service and products to its customers.  There are pros and cons to the three potential business models (selling direct, selling through retail stores, selling through reseller partners).  Panasonic feels strongly that its customer base is best served when purchases are made through channel partners.

Why are Toughbooks seemingly more expensive than other laptops?

Although the initial expense for a Toughbook is often somewhat higher than competing brands, studies have demonstrated that the true cost of owning a Toughbook over the life of the laptop is actually less than other equipment.  These studies take into consideration cost of repair, downtime, technical support, lost productivity, and replacment.  Because Toughbooks fail at a fraction of the rate that other laptops do, their value is realized over the next 3-5 years and not just at the time of purchase.

What is your return policy?

Due to restrictions set by the distributor, Panasonic Toughbook Computers cannot be returned.  Customers should refuse delivery of any visibly damaged packages.  Any non-visible damage must be reported immediately to Mooring Tech, Inc.  Defective or malfunctioning units must be handled directly with Panasonic at 1-800-LAPTOP5.  Exceptions to this return policy can only be made prior to purchasing product and only with the explicit consent of a sales representative.

Who do I contact for technical support?

Panasonic offers 24 hour/day, lifetime technical support on all Toughbooks.  Please call 1-800-LAPTOP5 with any technical questions.  As your reseller, we are also available to assist you when Panasonic fails to meet your needs.

Do Toughbooks ever go on sale?

Pricing for Toughbooks is relatively consistent across authorized resellers, but can depend on the level of service and speed of delivery.  Discounts for certain configurations and higher quantities can apply.  Overstock and refurbished units are available at various times throughout the year.

Do you ship to international locations?

Mooring Tech, Inc. is happy to do business with international customers.  However, we do require payment via wire transfer prior to any product being shipped.  Please contact us by email or phone for more details regarding international shipments.

Can I have a Toughbook shipped to an address that is different than my billing address?

We are ready and willing to make your Toughbook purchase as convenient as possible.  When shipping to an alternate address, further verification of the shipping address might be required.  The online Toughbook industry is a prime target for fraud and we are often required to take necessary steps to ensure accurate and legitimate transactions.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept a wide variety of payment methods. All customers are welcome to pay with any major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover), a personal or certified check, or via wire transfer.
